Dr Maria did a terrific job reconstructing a tooth I chipped, and the hygienists and support staff just couldn't be better.

The staff are very professional and friendly and the office is clean and welcoming. The waiting room even had toys and books for toddlers. Our little one was not very cooperative and Dr Vasilakis and Betty were very patient with her. By the end of the appt they were actually able to get fluoride varnish painted on her teeth. From the moment you step into her beautifully decorated waiting room, you can tell that her first priority is to make people feel welcome and comfortable. She even furnished her exam rooms with massaging chairs – and honestly, who wouldn’t enjoy a gentle massage during a teeth cleaning? It’s refreshing to have a dentist that clearly wants to make my experience more pleasant. I would also be remiss if I neglected to compliment her staff, who go out of their way to use the new gadgets and technology available to them to teach oral care rather than harping and criticizing patients, which further exemplifies the office’s emphasis on retaining patients by making them happy. As someone who fell into the habit of avoiding the dentist for years, I’m so glad to have been referred to Dr. Maria’s and to know that I can get any dental need met at an affordable cost in an office that I genuinely enjoy visiting. read less

That is probably... read moreI live right across the street from Dr. Vasilakis, but for some reason the idea of a dentist in a split level house had me turned off. That is probably just an unfair bias from living in the area/city for too long and knowing how landlords are about upkeep with their properties. Well i have to say, i am sorry i did not put my biases aside sooner because i was more than pleased with my services from this office.

First of all, the idea of going to the dentist stresses me out. I had a very bad experience with my previous dentist and had not been in three years and i am a bit skeptical of the dental industry and the quality or service vs. the fees they charge.

Secondly, i have "weird" insurance (aka anything besides delta or blue cross dental) and placed several phone calls to area dentist to see if they accepted it, i was met with a no, confusion, or no help what-so-ever. The person who i spoke to on the phone at Dr. Vasilakis' office was very helpful with explaining to me that they did accept my insurance, but they were out of network. I was not sure what that entailed or how it would effect me and they explained it all out for me. This was my deciding factor in booking an appointment.

When i arrived at the office the receptionist was very friendly and the office was quite modern and clean. I was promptly brought into my room for x-rays and a cleaning. My hygienist, Jamie-Lynn (sp?) was great. She was very friendly and easy to talk to and made me feel relaxed. Also - the fact that the chairs have a built in massager did not hurt either. She took the time to go over my e-rays with me, as well as explaining everything she was doing. She was also very knowledgeable with the questions that i had about some issues i have going on. I also received the least stressful and painless cleaning ever!  

The Doctor came in and greeted me and was very friendly. She went over some areas of concern and a treatment plan, while explaining each procedure, why i needed it, and what it entailed. Nothing was pushed on me and it was a very easy experience overall. It was also nice to have a younger female doctor in a sea of what seems like a profession filled with 70 year old men with nose hairs and antiquated teachings. I was also pleased to hear about her and Jamie-Lynn's (sp?) humanitarian efforts in Honduras, if i remember correctly.

I would recommend Dr. Vasilakis to anyone in the area for a relaxed and professional dental environment! Glad i found them! read less

On top of being an awesome staff they are very thorough in following up issues, have top of the line technology. From the little things to the medical elements.

In the little things for example you have the fact that they have a texting and email system to remind you if you want to. They have a Keurig coffee maker while you wait, and  the dentist chair has an option for a massage, which is amazing!!!!!!

On the medical side they have also top of the line technology, and are all very professional and knowledgable. Not only that, they keep you in the loop as to what is going on with your own health. I've been o other dentists that don't tell you but the minimum because they have so many patients.

They don't only care to treat problems with your oral health, they care to prevent problems. To give you an example: The other day after looking at an initial x-ray (which is digitalized, not printed) they took this laser pen that checks on the thickness of my enamel (I had never seen a dentist use this before). It turns out that one of my teeth seemed somewhat weak, but not quite damaged. So, they suggested that my tooth might be at risk, but that it was easy to fix changing some practices. They suggested as a preventive measure to change toothpaste, and proposed to check on it again next time. It turns out my tooth was fine the next time I came in.

So, top of the line technology allowed for prevention, their professional standards allowed them to follow up, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. The whole time I was enjoying it so much, before I even got there I got a text reminder, when I got there I got a little Keurig coffee, when they were treating me I got a massage from the chair, and when I left they made sure I had my next appointment ready, and said good bye to me with a big smile!!!! read less

I visited Dr. Vasilakis yesterday for the first time with my 3 year old and 5 year old.  I was very impressed with the office, it was so clean!  Both... read moreI visited Dr. Vasilakis yesterday for the first time with my 3 year old and 5 year old.  I was very impressed with the office, it was so clean!  Both Dr. Vasilakis and the hygienist were excellent and really impressed me with their interaction with the kids.  The kids never made a fuss at all and the hygienist did an excellent job keeping them occupied while she cleaned their teeth.  Dr. Vasilakis was very knowledgable.  We just moved here recently so I was very happy to find such a great dentist and dental office on my first try! read less

After switching dental offices, I finally found a good one.

Dr. Maria and her staff are wonderful. She's really up to date with all the latest dental technology, does great work and has created a wonderful spa-like atmosphere for her practice!

Dr.Maria herself is wonderful! So professional and nice.

I don't know if Jamie still works there (I think that's her name) but she was great.

The office and examination rooms or sparklingly clean and some of the chairs massage. So lovely.

It's right on the 57 bus and parking is pretty readily available on street. The 86 bus also goes right down the street so those in Cambridge have no excuse!

They have an amazing referral system, too. I haven't paid for a cleaning in a while because I just keep referring new patients to them. I will continue to see her even after I move away from the city, I'm sure. read less
